People (Guests)

Not all situations will have only one person keeping an eye on the tags and the notifications you've set. You may want other members of your family, close friends, or hired professionals to have access to the app and the tags. That is what the "People" section of the menu allows you to do.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure any guests you wish to add to your account have downloaded the HomeExcept mobile app and created a profile with their mobile phone number.

Adding People

Open the menu in the top left corner of the app.

When you tap on "people" you will have a blank screen with the blue circle and white plus sign in the bottom right. Tap the blue circle to add someone as a guest to your account.

Next add their mobile phone number (the same number your guest used to create their profile), and select which group(s) you want them to be able to view.

Keep in mind that guests can only view a tags data and receive notifications. They will not be able to make changes to the account.

Accepting Guest Invites

Once you have sent the group invite, your new guest will need to actively accept it in order to see the tags activity.

After opening the app, your guest will need to go to "Group Invites" in the main menu at the top left corner.

Guests will see your pending invitation in this section.

Once the guest has accepted your invite, they will see the tags and their data, but will not be able to make any changes to your account setup.

Removing People

In order to remove a guest user from your account, go back to the "People" tab and swipe left on the desired guest you wish to remove. Tap the red delete icon to remove the guest.
